infatuation

(noun) infatuation (with/for somebody/something) very strong feelings of love or attraction for somebody/something, especially when these are unreasonable and do not last long

  1. Despite knowing it was just a fleeting infatuation, she couldn't help but smile every time she saw him.

  2. His infatuation with the new novel led him to stay up all night.

  3. The intensity of her infatuation made it difficult for her to concentrate on anything else but his presence.

  4. Their brief encounter at the coffee shop sparked an unexpected infatuation that lingered in his thoughts for days.

  5. Infatuation often clouds judgement, causing people to overlook flaws and focus solely on the object of their affection.
